Seeing & Doing
The peaceful and tranquil setting of the
'Taigh Ailean Hotel' will make it hard for you to tear yourself away from
this area of magnificent coastal walks and one of the finest mountain
ranges in Europe. However, the
Isle of Skye is renowned for it many historical sites, castles, abundant
wildlife and varied craft shops whose appeal will have you
eager to explore further afield. |

Set aside time to discover:
|
| ... to
mention just a few of the many varied interests available on Skye. And, of course, there
is always the Talisker Distillery just down
the road at Carbost. |
| Or, if you are feeling that little more
adventurous or in need of a challenge, then perhaps a boat trip to see the
spectacular coastline from the sea, a guided tour or maybe even some
horse-riding:

| Some other useful information sites are
the official Skye & Lochalsh website,
the ScotsMart
directory and Visit
Scotland,
from the Highlands of Scotland Tourist Board.
Whatever your fancy, your hosts at the Taigh Ailean
Hotel will be only too happy to advise, suggest and to help you make the
most of your visit to this truly unique island. |
| Finding the Taigh Ailean Hotel is
easy!
Once over the bridge onto Skye follow
the A87 signposted for Portree until you reach Sligachan (right in the
heart of the Cuillins). Turn left immediately after the bridge at the
Sligachan Hotel and follow the A863 signposted for Dunvegan.
After about 6 miles turn left again onto the B8009,
signposted to Carbost and Portnalong. Stick on this road - after about 3
miles you will pass through Carbost (passing the Talisker Distillery)
and after a further 3 miles you will come to Portnalong and the Taigh
Ailean Hotel.
